The Porter Cable 7424XP operates by orbiting the polishing pad around a center spindle while the pad freely spins on its own axis. A counterweight on the opposite side of the center spindle dampens vibration for smooth operation. The tool head action, often called orbital, prevents the creation of holograms (symmetrical buffing marks), paint burns and other forms of paint damage often associated with high-speed buffing machines. When used with proper care, the Porter Cable 7424XPs design virtually eliminates the possibility of paint damage.

I purchased another system and I always ended up burning the paint and cleat coat at least once during the process and had to start over. I did a bit more research and found this one was it. The biggest and best feature of the Porter Cable 7424X is that it has a clutch system which kicks in and stops the pad from spinning when it detects an excessively high load (when the burning would otherwise begin). I haven't burned my work once since I started using the Porter Cable 7424XP. You can't burn your work at all with the Porter Cable.
I'm not a professional detail, just a regular joe who wants to take care of his toys. After doing a little research as to which machine I was going to buy, it was obvious to me the portacable because of it's name history and strong warranty was the way to go. The next step was who to buy it from at a fair price. These guys (Chemical Guys was the ticket) My order was shipped fast got it quick, however, there was a small glitch. The seller too care of it fast and shipped what I needed quickly. Very good service, will buy from them again. As for the unit it, what you'd expect excellent quality, gets the job done only complaint it's a tad loud. Other then that very happy with the unit and the seller.
